What Did You Think Of The Cardiff Meetup II?
If you joined us in Cardiff last weekend for our second "Torchwood Forum Meetup", I hope you had an enjoyable weekend. As we have already started putting plans into place for the next meetup, it would be great if you could tell us what you thought about it & rate the event on the poll above.
What did you like/dislike about this years meetup? What could we do better? What else could/should we include in the weekend? If you stopped at the Future Inns, what did you think of the hotel? Was your room nice? Did you enjoy the boat trip?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
I would like to thank those of you who helped plan & run this years meet up with me. Special thanks to Natalie for being our super tour guide and John & Chrissie for putting together the fantastically random quiz!

Re: What Did You Think Of The Cardiff Meetup II?
It was great we realy enjoyed it .......the added bonus of the boat trip and meeting GDR ..Class..the only down side was my sore feet..(but thats what happens when you wear brand new hiking boots ...DOH!)....we did not stay at the future inn we stayed at the etap...and because they messed up the booking ....we stayed there for free....so no complaints there.....but next year we will stay in the same hotel as the group.......saves walking back to another hotel 1:30 a.m (slightly tipsy) Meeting friends old and new......meetup 2008 was very good .....2009 was much better.....can't wait for 2010

Re: What Did You Think Of The Cardiff Meetup II?
Ditto as per hubby said.... we had a fab time...met some great new people & met up with some 'old' friends.... Looking forward to next year already....have made mental note to book more time off work - absolutely killed me getting up at 6.30am today - since we didn't get home till 11.30pm last night - another 7 1/2 hour drive..... Thanks again to Tristan for making it possible... Chrissie..xx

Re: What Did You Think Of The Cardiff Meetup II?
Just back from Cardiff today (the longest journey ever btw!) but was really annoyed that I didn't bump into any of you! Was in Borders when GDL came in (even gamer husband squeed slightly). I think other than that we were always about an hour behind wherever you were.. Just wish we'd had some way of contacting and meeting for a drink. Ooh, we saw the Ianto shrine! It was strangely moving (tho I almost cried at the first person who said Croeso Cymru) and funny, the reactions of the tourists who hadn't a clue was a delight!

Thought the hotel was really good, very impressed with The Future Inn. Enjoyed the boat trip, although Jack wasn't too sure of it! I didn't do a few things which i have personal reasons for not doing so,but what i did i enjoyed!
Would have liked to have got round to speaking to more people but was lovely to see Cardiff and see so many forum members.Thankyou.

Re: What Did You Think Of The Cardiff Meetup II?
I think the weekends highlights for me were getting tipped off about some possible filming (even if we didn't see anything or anyone in particular) and nearly wetting myself in the hotel bar on Sunday night at Natalie's comic timing!
Kezzy, I'm sorry we didn't get to see more of each other...we seemed to keep passing but never be quite in the same place at the same time!!! Glad you enjoyed it (and I liked the glitter!)

Re: What Did You Think Of The Cardiff Meetup II?
I had a brilliant time! And the people I met were all lovely, as you'd expect from the members here. Thank you VXR and all the organisers for your hard work. The visit to Borders was the best bit and I really enjoyed the Doctor Who exhibition. The quiz was good fun (even though I wasn't a contestant) but maybe a slightly shorter one for next year? I'd have liked to have seen more of Penarth - if we went there by train we wouldn't have to do the killer hill (although we could always walk down to get the boat back). I thought the Future Inn was a good choice of hotel with really nice rooms (I had just a couple of minor niggles) and I'd be happy to stay there again.

Re: What Did You Think Of The Cardiff Meetup II?
This weekend was one of the best short breaks I've ever had. I loved having the oppurtunity to meet such lovely people and have a real good laugh in the process. Borders was obviously fantastic and the quiz, even though I couldn't answer hardly any of the questions we still had fun making up some of the answers. The hotel was lovely too, would definitely stay there again. Thankyou to VXR and all the organisers for setting it up, I am really looking forward to next year

Re: What Did You Think Of The Cardiff Meetup II?
Gosh, where to start? What I liked? Well, just about everything. It was a fantastic break, and that is always welcome. I love going to Cardiff, so any excuse to be there makes me happy, but the meetup was fantastic. It's great just to get together with everybody, and meeting people, and putting faces to names and all that. The hotel was great, and the fact that just about everybody was there made for very enjoyable evenings down at the bar. We stayed there when we were in Cardiff last year, and I guess as long as we visit with a "Torchwood" mindset we will probably stay there, particularly if they keep the reasonable prices they normally have (which became even more reasonable with the group discount, thanks for that as well). The tshirts are cool, and a great way to keep track on the group while walking around. My badge was going to end up on display on my handbag (yes, I am that sad, thanks for mentioning it) with my Torchwood logo until Gareth signed it... Have I said "thanks VXR for organizing that" enough times already? Nah, I think I can still throw a few more in The quizz was really random and still loads of fun (although it may be an idea, if we can't get a quieter place, to just print out a few copies of the questions for those of us that struggle with noisy places). The prizes were great! The Doctor Who exhibition never ceases to amaze me: I love the fact that it changes every now and again, so it is always worth a visit. I did really enjoy having time in between all the organized things, to walk around, and see places, and do all the touristy things or simply put my feet up for a while. I've been in other events where everything happens back to back (with 17.5 minutes for lunch, if you are lucky), and, even though they tend to be fun while I'm there, then I could do with a week off to recover; having time to unwind every now and again makes it much more enjoyable. The boat trip was fun, even though I'm usually happier on land The barrage is impressive, and it's definitely in my list of places to go back to next time in Cardiff (weather permitting...) Some really impressive views of the Bay from there. What else would I like to see in the next one? Hm... Can't think of anything right now... may have something to do with the fried brain I have rigth now... I shall let you know if anything comes to mind later on... So, yeah, thanks to everybody that was involved in organizing, helping out, quizzes, tours and everything else! You are all mad as a hatter for organizing this, but I'm very grateful that you do! I will most definitely be showing up for the next one (schedules and budget permitting), and I'd even be happy to lend a hand with things if needed...
Thank you all
